Assalamulaikum..First of all Concratulation to Adha and his beloved husband Zamzul...Remember my previous posting regarding "Bantal Busuk Adha? " yes merekalah the lovely couple yang order the cute pillow on Nov 2009..Wah lama gila!... .. during that time I only have Sony Erricson P1 handphone camera (semua gambar kelabu jek...tu pasal malap jer gambar tu... ;) hehehee... A ah..my first and last felt pillow yang I jahit....hahahha... why? heeh " lazy lah" ...

...and I'm glad my pillow has been inspired to others crafter and they make more beutiful than me...seriously as crafter I'm so proud of our Malaysian crafter..hope we can make more than what we have now...rasanya dah macam musim yang amat mengujakan dengan FELT CRAFT kat Malaysia kan.... everybody talk about felt..and look like it grow-up lagi dan lagi seronok rasanya :)

Last few month iIdid received sms from Adha...I'm so supprised when Adha said she will getting married with Zamzul..huhuuuu so swett..(apa plak aku yang lebih-lebih nih..).. and to make her majlis more memrible...she ask me to do something... first she asked to make kapal terbang ..huhuuu mana mak tahu nak oiii...than last minute (ampun le...tak menjadi angan-angan mu dik)...so I decided to do flower brooch for her familiy members and her closed friend..heheh alhamdulilah Adha like it.. Thanks dear.. and so sorry...you have been request this wedding favor almost 4 month back..but due to your kakak ni so buzy with kehidupan yang entah apa2 tu...so here is the result... THANK YOU ADHA...again you make my CRAFT DAY :)

Why got RM1.00? welll Adha teringat zaman dulu-2kan kita bat Brooch pin + RM1.00...hehehee untuk penangah and rakan-rakan terdekat...dulu zaman mak rasanya dekat bunga tu ada 50sen wah suka la sangattt!!1 dapat beli ice-cream dekat uncle yang naik basikal tu...bunga? bunga campak jek..yang penting I got 50 cent tu..sekarang ada lagik tak?

Assalam,

Wow, baru perasan hampir 3 miggu saya tidak menulis apa-apa diblog..Yup...since start work on shift at early morning which is start from 5AM! rasa nak tercabut mata dibuatnya...and slowly i did not have much ROH nak berkraft...kenapa? bila kudrat tiada apa yang dihasilkan pun tak menjadi kan..daripada sakit hati tak cantik biar dia duk diam2 dalam kotak...when i got mood do again...yeahhh..

Okay we we know on 3rd and 4th Dec I run 2 session workshop at National Textile Museum, Kuala Lumpur...wow rasa megah..bangga kembang-kembang hidung semua ada...Thanks to ACG who introduce us to them...Thanks to Mis Fid, Mikko, Saza, Nirwana, Namizam who help me alot on that day..esok2 saya belanja makan ya? hehee

This is our last class with Kolej Komuniti for the year 2011. We not sure if government still have budget for Program 1 Malaysia RM20.00 for 2 days class. I heard that the management said might be back to normal program which is student/participant need to pay the material cost as well... I hope we got good news from them next year..hopefully ...

Assalam... this is backdated report .... :) sebok la lately ni...everyday 24hrs masa terisi dengan berbagai perkara...As usually Norlie x sempat nak update dalam blog....ahahh result UPSR pun dah keluar kan..? aduyaiiilah cik sekoci selomorr....Jadi perkara mudah adalah upload in Sekoci's FB Fan... hahahaha than lets the picture talk and explain what going on...aci?....

I have been invited by Puan Azizah, guru sekolah Seksyen 20 Shah Alam pada awal Oktober yang lalu...untuk menjalankan beberapa aktiviti kraft bersama pelajar-pelajar lepasan peperiksaan UPSR...mula-mula rasa gusar dah gundah gulana... i need to prepare mental dan physical coz the target group is around 257...huhuuuuu ... than im lucky my law and my sis in law help me to prepare all the DIY Kits... hahahh yup seriously menakutkan...kot2 terkucil di tengah2 laman..

Alhamdulilah semua berjalan dengan baik.... divided to 2 group girls and boys...and the winner is boys...hahahh cepat siap..siap boleh jahit button lagi.... but big mistake is i did not bring my camera so... all the picas belas ehsan Pn Azizah form her iPad :P...

Okay here we go...only few jek dpt snap... all 100 students dah pegi latihan pom-pom dah masa ni..hehehe

BASIC How to price your handmade!

From my observation of Malaysian crafter selling their handmade items out there, I see that sometimes some of them or maybe nearly all set their price way too low for handmade. Here, I would like to share some of my knowledge in how to price your handmade. I'm not a pro in the biz field but I read quite a lot from the net & biz books on pricing handmade/craft.

So here's what I can summarize from the info that I know.

The basic formula for pricing (for any biz out there) is:

MATERIAL COST (including glue, label, packaging, electricity, water etc ) + LABOUR COST (time needed to complete) = BASE PRICE

Of course for biz, you won't want to sell your item in base price / minimum price(mana nk dpt untung kan?)

So for RETAIL PRICE (end price for customer) you should at least price it at x2 or x3 times of your BASE price.

For WHOLESALE PRICE normally u'll need a min order quantity &pricing should not be lower that half of the RETAIL PRICE (that's the min ok guys!). Discount should be given around maybe 15-25%depending on the order size/quantity.

But there is also some other stuff to consider, sometimes u need to check out the market price for your item & adjust the pricing appropriately.

For certain type of craft such as crochet, knitting & jewellery making which need skill & more labour time, the price would be concentrating on the LABOUR COST more!

For small biz like us crafter, especially CUSTOM MADE ORDER orMADE-TO ORDER items, it is advisable to get deposit or advance fees first at least 1/2 of the item(s) price.Maybe you should also consider theextra charges especially for CUSTOM MADE ORDER (example, when need to create a new design according to customer demand etc)

Just my advise, after you figure out your pricing, stick with it. Don't just simply lower your handmade price just because ppl bargain especially when it's lower than your material cost! It will be only a big lost to u except you are just willingly give your labour cost for free to every customer you have.

Oh don't be afraid to change the pricing if u need to do so. There will be always a fluctuation in pricing of materials you buy (eg. rise of fuel price cause yarn price to go up).

Please guys, try to set ur handmade price appropriately as u are the only one who know how difficult to make them. I always believe that the ppl who appreciated handmade (good quality & unique) are the ppl who willing to pay for the price of the handmade no matter how expensive it is. Hope that these info will help you all in your craft biz!

Assalam... I received one request from my beloved friend Yan..asked me to do something for her lil princess - Dea... and she want to be a SNOW WHITE... Oh My Allah...what I should do? I don't have any button with Snow White character..think..think and think...

Taraaa!!! Here the result... I noticed that Snow White is wearing headband... Snow white is wearing beautiful dress Yellow + Blue and Red... I did 3 experiments... with ribbon..with felt and last with organza... mmmm...bow je? ...Yup just simple ribbon bow...to make it different is the Snow White Picture..

Red organza, plastic headband...Snow White's stickers.. and 1 piece of felt..

Seriously difficult for me to find the sticker..(iyer sticker je..) I go from one shop to another shop just to search Snow White's head! hahah (selalu bila tak cari bersepah jek..bila cari tak jumpa-jumpa...stress makkk!!!)

Lasttt I found at Seksyen 19..almost an hour I geledah the kedai...the Tokey keep looked at me..keep jeling-jeling like I one to curi... (haiyaaaa nyonyaaa ini kedai 2 ringgit I tara curi punyalahhh!!!)... tp heheh banyak sorry pasal itu sepahkan rak stickerr....ngeh ngeh ngeh...

I'm so lucky akhirnya jumpa juga...but only one...if tak jadi...confirm I don't have it anymore...masakk....Sampai rumah..kena sorok siap2 from my daughter... kalau tak arwah la the sticker...heheee

See...so Royal!!..is it looked like the Original Snow White headband? mmm oklah seakan-akan..hahahaaaa

Alhamdulillah Snow White's Mummy to be like it...I'am glad she said is nice...ya beda bedooo..!!!

Than my ROH come overrr...from only one Headband dah jadi 2...I do some for Snow White's Mummy pulak..hahahaa...mengada tau!..siapa yang over? mak pengantin ke haku? (jawapannya haku lerr..)

Pada suatu hari...tersebutlah kisahhhhhhh.... (suara latar taiiiiibbbbbbb....) tersebutlah kisah Si Kumbang bersama dengan kumbang2 yang lain berbincanggg... (taiiibbbbb)...

" Babe...aku dapat invitation card nih...open house..kau nk ikut?" Kata Azman ketua kumbang bertanya kepada rakan2 sekumbangnya...."Kemana? " Tanya Gempal memecah kesunyian petang itu.... "Alah Rumah Jane..."

"Kau gila Man? Gile kentang...jauh tu Likas! Hilang akal apa...biar betik?... Jerit Karim... sungguh tidak percaya apa yang didengarnya...

Dari jauh kelibat Maaroff...berlari2 .."aduhhhh terpelecok pulak...hais payoh betul nan ado kaki ni...." seolah2 tidak percaya apa didengar...Bersungguh nampaknya Azman mengajak yang lain terbang ke Likas..."Betulll, Jane offer setiap sorang DHL Dilevery....bukan susah tahan nafas duk dalam plastik kedap udara...agak2 nak take-off kau mengucaplah...paling-paling 2 hari dah sampai... apa der hal brooo...." Jawap Azman lagi...

Masing-masing sudah berkumpul..teruja.....nak guna sayap yang seposen jek lebarnya ni ke sana sure melingkup...paling-paling belum empat apa-apa Si Kenyalang dah ngappp buat sahur puasa 6...nasiblah Jane ada sponser tikcet dilevery DHL...

"Ha ha apa lagi tunggu...? Sampaikan pada yang lain...timbang sekor-sekor...pastikan lebihan muatan tidak lebih 10gram sekor...kita ada 40 ekor..kalau lebih memang confirm extra charges...tu siapa yang lambat sila la bayar sendiri....aku bukan apa...dia kata 40 ekor jek..tapi kalau yang datang 50 ekor...memang over the budgetlah..." Terang Azman panjang lebar....Kusyuk Mbak Yu, Paman Leman, Acik Manis mendengar....

Ha Q-up la weeiii... no time already!!! don't waste your time... the rendang, ketupat will be ready by 23rd September bro....

"Eh Kemah baju apa kau nak pakai? aku nak pakai Kurung Oren dengan polca dot hitammm kelassss aku nyahhhh"

Aku dah buh tepi box Sazalia..dia mana pandang brand nih...dia guna Celak Mekah Nyahhh....seriousss tu la kalau nk tahu rasia dia..sshhhttt kau jgn heboh sesapa..." Aku memang admire celak dia...susah wooo nak carik...orang pegi Mekah jek leh beli...sini hok jual kedai Al-Sahab tu tak bagus...comottt...lagipun bercelah ni pahala...Maskara ada? Tapi kalau kau nk tahu kalau Acik Sekoci lagi kelakar....lekat kat spekkk!!! hahah dah rupa wiperrr nokkk!!! huwarhahhah (umpat Fahida)

Dari Jauh Azmanm memerhati gelagat rakan-rakannya...rasa bangga juga teruja...terharu pun ada...iyerlah jauh ke Likas...paling dekat depa pergi pun longkang depan rumah..rilex2 sambil melihat kanak-kanak berlari kesana-kemari..Tidak pernah difikirkan apa membuatkan kana-kanak itu tertawa...Yang pasti berita gembira ini membahagian semua....20 hari menanti...kali ini ada yang betul-betul sudi menjemput mereka....

Aduiiihhhh, siapa menolak ni!!!! Jerit beberapa ekor kumbang...habis jatuh berserakan....hai BERHATI-HATI...mengapa mesti berebut-rebut...rezeki Allah SWT itu ada...jika sudah jatuh, luka apa yang tinggal sakit sendiri kan....?

Wahhhh...lihat semua sudah bersedia...duduk....masing-masing sedang membetulkan duduk....senget..senget bakul yang Acik Sekoci sediakan....

Moga rezeki bertambah lagi (doa Azman dalam hati...) amin.....
